I decided at the start of March that I wanted somewhere to share all the great meals I eat and recipes I make with anyone interested. Over the past 12 months I have lost 33lbs (to the start of April) using My Fitness Pal. I haven’t only started exercising – mainly running (I am running the Yorkshire Marathon in October, my training blog can be found at ameliaannakin.wordpress.com) and resistance training – but I also totally changed the way I ate. I now calorie count and track everything – good and bad. It keeps me on track and, to be honest, I enjoy doing it.
I eat around 1,630 calories a day and the majority of my meals are home cooked from scratch. I never so no to a treat every now and again – be it chocolate, a takeaway, a meal out or a nights drinking – but I am a firm believer in everything in moderation!
I am not looking to lose anymore weight but control what I eat to maintain the loss I have already achieved. Here I will share all my meals, with pictures, calorie information and recipes (if I have them) to hopefully give people ideas for their own meals and to show what a 1,600 calorie day looks like.
I eat more now then I ever have done – which quite a few people find difficult to believe. The difference is, I eat right!!

UPDATE 19/04/2013 – I have upped my calories to 1,820 after losing another 3lbs in the past two weeks. I am now starting to just look skinny rather than healthy so I’m going to see how this works 🙂
