Dessert – 31/05

Baked apple in the microwave (based on this recipe from Elena the Epicurian’s blog – http://www.elenatheepicurean.com/baked-apple-in-the-microwave/) – one Braeburn apple 71 calories, thinly sliced, mixed with 30g of Aldi Sweetvine Californian raisins 88 calories, one teaspoon of sugar 15 calories, one teaspoon of almond extract 0 calories, one tablespoon of lemon juice 4 calories and a teaspoon of cinnamon 6 calories. Covered with an upside down plate and microwaved for 3 minutes, stirred then microwaved for a further minute. Left to stand for a minute and then topped with 10g of Aldi The Pantry walnut halves 70 calories, chopped, and 10g of Tesco Value clear honey 33 calories

250ml cup of Robinsons no added sugar apple and blackcurrant 5 calories

Total = 292 calories

Might be quite high calorie but what a delicious and nutritious way to finish the day. Much better for me than chocolate or cake!

Tea – 31/05

Great tea. We’ve had this before but not with asparagus, with green beans. I didn’t think I liked asparagus but I’ve really started enjoying it. This was a really good tea 🙂

Daytime snacks – 31/05

Total = 158 calories

I love apricots. These were my last Tesco apricots so from next week it is back to the Suma ones, which I have to say I prefer. They should keep me going on my run tonight though!

Lunch – 31/05

BBC Good Food Mediterranean scone – http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1867/ 293 calories cut in half and warmed in the microwave for 30 seconds, then topped with one tablespoon of salted butter 102 calories

I love these scones. They are so soft and fluffy and melt in the mouth. Mmmm.

80g of defrosted Sainsbury’s Black Forest frozen fruits 31 calories topped with 50g of Lidl Eridanous low fat 2% Greek yogurt 30 calories

Such a good after lunch snack. Really refreshing and I love the tastes of these berries!

500ml of Robinsons no added sugar apple and blackcurrant squash 10 calories

Total = 466 calories

Great lunch for a Summery day like today 🙂

Oats So Simple golden syrup porridge sachet with 180ml semi skimmed milk 215 calories with 30g of Aldi Sweetvine Californian raisins 88 calories mixed in

Tesco apple and blackcurrant fruit splash 13 calories

Total = 316 calories

I didn’t plan ahead too well here with the sunshine outside, but this is a delicious breakfast! I love porridge and the raisins just make it!

A higher calorie mid-week day than usual bit makes up for me being way under on Wednesday and I just couldn’t say no to the second bit of cake… Oh well, like I said in my last post. This is why I run, right?

Total = 260 calories

I got sent out at lunchtime to buy doughnuts for work from Tesco. But Tesco’s in Halifax had no doughnuts. So I went to Marks & Spencer instead and got cream cakes for 2 for £2. I still had a doughnut though :). Yum! Depressing that this burnt pretty much as many calories as my 5km run this morning though.

This is a great breakfast. Such a good cereal. I love Greek yogurt way more than milk!
